culture
Today we talked about culture and how our culture is different from other countries. We talked about how 9/11 changed a lot in the American culture. After 9/11 they added Homeland Security which is why we go through metal detectors and other safety precautions before entering a plane, stadium, concert, and more. We also touched on the topic of murder and how we do things with the law. In the U.S. when accused with a crime they don't say anything about breaking a religious law they accuse you of doing something against the laws your state has. In some other countries, they will accuse you od breaking a religious law because their government is based around one religion because all are most likely required to practice the religion. An interesting topic we talked about was cremation after death. Catholics do not believe that being cremated is something God would want. I found that interesting because I did not know religion could have a say in what they think someones family should do after a loved ones death.
