Maps

    Today in class we learned about cartography which is the science of map making. Maps serve two purposes one-two as a reference tool to identify an objects absolute and relative location. The other way is as a communications tool to convey the distribution of human activities or physical features. Early mapping was reference tools-simple navigation devices to show a traveler how to reach a point. The first map was made in 276-194 B.C by Eratosthenes then later improvements by Ptolemy. After Ptolemy advancements in cartography primarily made outside of Europe.
