In class, we talked about the CIA website and how to use it. We were given the assignment to explore the Factbook and find five facts that relate to what we learned in class. Here are the facts I found.
The first fact I got was from Costa Rica I chose to read about Costa Rica because I had just gone there this summer. I found that the median age was 31.3 I found this interesting because most of the people I saw looked much older than that and seemed that everyone was more in their fifties.
The second fact I found comes from The United Arab of Emirates. I looked at this country because my uncle is from here and my cousins visit there and we as a family hope to go there one day. I found that the population is 9,400,145 people and immigrants make up 88% of their population. This connects to our studies because we talked about Net Migration Rate and they have many immigrants.
The third thing I found that relates to our studies is in Argentina. Argentinas population growth rate is 0.91% which is very low and means the population is dropping at a fast rate. For the population to stay neutral is 2.1. I chose Argentina because last year in my spanish class I did a whole presentation on Argentina and did not know the population was dropping.
The fourth fact I found that relates to class is from Germany. I chose Germany because my family is from there and I thought it would be fun to see what they had. Their population is 80,594,017 and I thought it would be a little more than that.
The fifth fact from Croatia I looked at Croatia because they are a very small country and I only knew about it from watching the Fifa World Cup. I found that they have 4,292,095 people which I thought was a lot because of what I heard from watching the World Cup was that it was very small so I thought there would only be about 500,000 people.
